If you wish to burn your art you must do so in the inner circle, and your must state you plan to burn your art when you register your art so accomidations can be made. Sculpture Walk InformationThis year, Hannon’s Camp America has agreed to let us install semi permanent sculptures and creations along the “ Island ” paths on the lower levels of their campgrounds. This is a beautiful wooded area which has been abused and misused by local patrons for years, and the Hannon family is very excited to see us create something unique and educational out of this prime location. It is our hope that by allowing artists to install original works, we will beautify the area and raise the expectations of future clientele and participants at HCA. As of January, there are 5 pieces currently being planned for the Sculpture Walk paths. These include an antique stove which will be turned into a living garden, a life size Mother Earth goddess, a Mirror Tree and several more. This unique area will also feature a Compost Education area and an improved tree house/ gazebo featuring a bonfire pit. There are many ways to participate in this project for Scorched Nuts 2008. There will be several volunteer work days leading up to the event in June to help clear and mark the trails and paths, install signage and art work and stabilize the existing structures. Volunteers with and without experience will be greatly appreciated to help us prepare the area. However several people with carpentry and building experience will be necessary. If you are interested in creating an original piece of artwork for the area, we would love to know what you are thinking about! It can be small and simple or larger and elaborate. Your creativity and productivity are the only restrictions. We will ask that it be family friendly, and preferably have some connection to nature and man’s connection to their surroundings. We ask that it be a sturdy and reinforced design, and it should be designed to be as non flammable as possible. If you want to create something but would like some more direction, we would love to install 5 or more permanent benches along the trails. These should be sturdy and non flammable, and be able to comfortable seat 2-36 people each. These will provide space for meditation and relaxation, as well as making the area more user friendly. Performance ArtPerformance groups of all kinds and skill levels are welcome. Register your performance to recieve a time slot by filling out the Contact Us form, Attention: Participation Coordinator. The schedule will be made in late may. Any performances involving fire must be performed outdoors. Music/ bands/ Dj'sWithout music there is no soul to the festival, so please volunteer your performance, we except music of all kinds. Since this is our first year and I am not certain that we will be able to fill all time slots with live music, there will be a drop box at the gate when you enter. You may drop your burnt CD's into this box these CD's will be choosen at random and played to fill in the gaps. CD's will not be returned so please besure it is a burned copy. |
