Scorched News Part 2!

Hello folks! Time is passing quickly as we find ourselves halfway through January already! Here's the latest on the Scorched Nuts home front.

Basics:

Dates- June 17-20, 2010

Location- Reclaim, McCumber Hill Road, Rutland Ohio (just south of Athens Ohio)

Ticket sales will be postponed until after our next meeting on 2.6.10. There are several policies up for discussion and we would prefer not to begin sales until we have come to a consensus on the subjects. This next meeting will be held in Cincinnati at the KOI Pound (2008 Freeman Ave). We will be discussing allowing under 18 participants, marketing strategies, art and effigy ideas, budget needs and more. This meeting is open, however please do not join us if you do not plan on volunteering before or during the event.

And speaking of art and effigy ideas, don't forget to make some!!! We want to begin printing flyers and posters very soon and we can't do that without artwork submissions! Also we would love to be able to discuss plans for the effigy and other art work ideas at the meeting. Please take the theme of Awakenings into consideration while creating your designs, but feel free to interpret this in your own way.

Tickets for Burning Man are now on sale! If you are interested in attending Burning Man 2010 keep in touch with the KOI Burner community! There will be a large group traveling from Ohio and planning will begin soon for a caravan and camping. Go to www.burningman.com for ticket and event information.

Hello from the Scorched Nuts Team!

We are pleased to announce the dates of Scorched Nuts as June 17-20, 2010! This decision was made based on the results on our online poll combined with the results of the tally/vote taken at our first Planning Meeting last night. Unfortunately the results were very close but a decision had to be made so we could move forward in our planning. We hope this date works for as many people as possible and that you are planning on attending this years event!

The theme was also a close call, but the winner was Awakenings! Awaken your inner child, awaken your free spirit! Join us at Scorched Nuts and discover all the Awakenings awaiting you!

Tickets will go on sale 2.1.10! More information about ticket pricing and volunteer discounts will be made available soon.

This year we will once again be offering Art Grants to individuals and groups who wish to create projects for our event. The application process will be available online before January 1st!
