Volunteer

VIPs are Very Involved Participants, and while everyone who joins us at Scorched Nuts is expected to find some way to contribute, VIPs take the next step and register with a volunteer team to help create our event.  You can volunteer a few hours or several days, it all depends on your availability and desire. However all help is appreciated and some teams need more help than others. Details of the shifts needed are available from the Team Lead and will be posted before the event. The amount of VIP's needed and approximate shift length are listed with each team below.  Email participate@scorchednuts.org to sign up for a shift!
 
DPW/ Effigy Construction: Planning and creating the Effigy and other necessary structures. Building experience and tools are a plus!
VIP's: 4 or more       
Shifts: 4 hours/ as needed for projects
 
Earth Guardians :   Ensure we Leave No Trace at Reclaim, before, during and after our event.
VIP's: 8 or more
Shifts: 2-4 hours during event/ 2-4 hours Monday after event
 
Fire Conclave and Safety: Fire Performance or being a Safety for a Performer
  VIP's: 1 safety per performer
 Shifts: during fire performances
 
Gate Keepers: Greeting arrivals and processing tickets
VIP's: 10 or more
Shifts: 4 hours shifts during gate hours
  
Lamplighters : Setting and lighting the lanterns in a ceremonial tradition
VIP's: 6 or more
Shifts: 1 hour at dusk, 2 hours at close of event to retrieve materials
 
Medic:  Providing first aid and first response care
VIP's: 6 or more
Shifts: 6 hour shifts as on call Medic
 
Rangers:  Mediating conflicts and ensuring safety
VIP's: 8 or more
Shifts: 4 hour shifts
